402Trails has been building commercial bike parks and sustainable flow based mountain bike trails since 2002. Prior to starting 402Trails owner Brad Stone was a professional level mountain bike racer. During this time Brad travelled to resorts, venues, and trails around the world and saw firsthand what works and what doesn’t work from a sustainability and risk management point of view.
In April of 2002 Brad was approached by management of Wintergreen Resort to help form a lift served mountain bike program. With his knowledge of the mountain bike industry Brad formed 402Trails and the first lift served mountain bike park in the Mid Atlantic region of the United States was opened. After 2 years of design and construction at Wintergreen Resort, Brad was approached by Intrawest Resorts and Snowshoe Mountain to join their team and help develop a world class mountain bike facility at Snowshoe Mountain Resort. For 5 seasons Brad was responsible for all design and construction of the Snowshoe Bike Park including 14 PowerAde race series Downhill courses, Norba National race courses, and world class flow based sustainable trails including Missing Link and Raging Bull a RedBull funded trail project. 402Trails has gone on to become leaders in sustainable flow based design and construction and build successful trail projects all over the world from Jamaica to Alaska.
With a strong skill in sustainable flow based machine built trail the 402Trails team has grown into a crew of 4 world class trail builders and an equipment inventory capable of rapid production of the highest quality mountain bike trails no matter the project size.
