James "Dr. Jamie" Gillis has been harassing myself and others with street posters meant to cause us harm for nearly twenty years. On September 18, 2017 the Toronto Police charged him with Criminal Harassment. He was arrested. He was released on condition he neither possess nor post anything related to myself. Nonetheless he continues to destroy my street flyers. His reviews on google will give a more than adequate description of what to expect from him. Like

I am at the store yesterday, wearing a RED SHIRT. No one appears to be inside, so I start browsing. Then from behind the counter I hear someone say: "Mark, (I am not Mark), I finally sold that piece of crap "Huffy", (the name of a bike), I told you some idiot would buy it. Ha! And he paid the full $250.Another sucker!"
As I turn around, I see Jamie, the owner, (as I later found out), His smile is quickly replaced by a look of complete surprise. Followed by blush.
Then someone comes up the stairs from basement, his employee, also dressed in a RED SHIRT.
Turns out Jamie took me for his employee and exposed the fact that they sell overpriced crappy bikes to unsuspecting, inexperienced customers.
Poor Jamie ran quickly downstairs, apparently overcome with shame.
At least he understands whats wrong!

I didn't want to be labeled "Idiot" or "sucker", so I left without buying anything.

WOW!!!

DO NOT BUY A BIKE HERE. In early September I purchased (grossly overpaid) a vintage Peugeot fixed gear men's bike. The FIRST time I rode to work the pedals went wonky. Not being too knowledgable about bikes, I had no idea what had happened. …More

The website and the people in the store very often use the word "warranty". Please let me explain what they mean by that:

Unlimited repair attempts within seven day period.

The warranty does NOT get extended, no matter how how many times the bike breaks within the seven days and how much time it took to repair. After seven days you have to pay for repairs, even it it's still the problem that represented itself on day one.

If you wish to return the bike that can not be repaired, you will receive 50% of the price you paid.

Somehow, this information is not on the website and the people in the store do not tell you any of that when you buy a bicycle.

STOLEN BIKES.

I fouind my stolen bike in Jamie's shop.

The cops said that I should have it resolved with the store first. I did.

I asked for my bike back, described where it was stolen, Jamie released it in a hurry as he just wanted it to ba over with.

This shop advertises bikes that are "tuned up and come with warranty". In terms of being properly tuned, the bike I purchased (priced at the over $400 level) ended up having a loose bottom bracket, a broken rear brake lever, wobbly wheels, and derailleur cable housing used for the brake housing (this is bad, because the derailleur housing runs parallel to the cables and cannot be compressed, whereas brake housing is coiled and meant to be compressed under braking).

As a result of the wrong housing my brakes failed the first week I had the bike (the cable pulled itself right out of the housing) and the housing/cables needed to be replaced. I also replaced the brake levers and the front brake caliper as the caliper that came with the bike was old and stiff and used brake pads meant for steel rather than alloy rims (of which the bicycle possessed the latter).

Oh, and did I mention that the stem was seized and I had to work it out with WD40? Upon removing stem and seat post it was also obvious that the bike's frame has major internal rust issues. This may be a general issue with poilce auction bikes, since they have probably sat abandoned and open to the elements at one point.

Given the above issues, interpret the claim that the bikes have been "tuned up" as you will. And what about the so-called "warranty"? It's only a 24 hour warranty! Joke was on me because I only asked about the warranty details after I had paid in full.

My recommendation is to stay away unless you have the knowledge to inspect and evaluate the bike before buying. And then be prepared to take the bike to a real bike shop and dump some more money into minor or major fixes.
