My family and I were visiting Oneonta for the Cooperstown Field of Dreams tournament and I was distracted by the Trailforks map of the local hills. The map also directed me to Otsego bicycles. First of all the shop is conveniently located in the center of town and according to Ed the trail heads are minutes away. I did not get to experience riding out from the shop but I did follow Ed’s trail advice and visited several of the local trails over the next couple days. They reminded me of Oregon forests with a few more roots and lots of flat rocks (which actually made for really fun cornering). The best trails for my interests were at the Homer Fields area, some black diamonds with nice size drops and a good overall flow. In any case this was a really nice experience and I wish I had more time to explore the local trails. Please make a point to stop by this shop even if it’s just for some power bars and a spare inner tube.
