My primal, absolute beast on the trails!
Not sure what year the frame is anybody know?

Looks like it's 27.5 based on the rims.

hello everyone Im new to the group. just want to ask if the 2020 dartmoor primal 29 can accept 120mm fork even if recommended is at least 130. would it greatly affect the geomerty? thanks

It can but you run the risk of the BB being a bit too low and your head angle being a little too steep. It would definitely impact the geometry, but not nearly as bad as if you ran 100mm.

It's strongly suggested to get at least 130mm.

Are you asking because you are considering switching to 120mm or because you only have a120mm and and wondering if it will work. If it's the latter, Reverse Components makes a crown race spacer that will add 10mm of height to correct the geometry.

I highly recommend this suggestion if the latter is the case. This would be the best solution.

I have been doing some bike park riding at windrock on my hornet. The redbull drop is not very hard just big. I like flats more when riding, but clips keep my feet on the pedals, the downside is that you are stuck when something goes wrong in the air.
my bike got dirty
, it was pretty muddy the day that I went.

Dartmoor Phantom 4x
Fairly old school bike I’ve recently built up.
Picked this Dartmoor frame up on here after cracking my 07 Azonic Evo II.
Had it powder coated in a pearl purple with a satin finish, custom decals from SGD.
Features;
09 rockshox Pikes
Mavic deetrak wheelset
Maxxis Minion F front
Maxxis Highroller II rear
Hope mini brakes f&r
Raceface diabolus crankset
E13 chaindevice
SRAM X9 9 speed drivetrain
Raceface turbine R stem
Renthal fatbar carbon 20mm rise
DMR deathgrips
Fabric seat
Raceface Chester seatpost
DMR seat clamp

I use it for dirt jumps/bike parks but really want to do some more 4x tracks

Nice bike. I'm looking at building up a primal frame. What size is yours, how tall are you, what size tires are you running. Thanks

Question for Primal 29 (2020)

Anyone run one as mullet (yes i know it would lower my BB) ?

Currently have an Hornet 2021 set as mullet (love it), the Primal would be my backup bike but as much as possible i would like to have it set as close to my Hornet despite frames being different so if needed i can swap parts.

I was thinking on going with 160mm, any input on this ? I know the frame is build for 140mm so i prefer asking if anyone got specific feedback on such setup.

If anyone ran both Hornet & Primal i would like to know your feeling, difference, etc....

Thanks in advance.

You are best to try the mullet with the primal 27.5 frame as opposed to 29. The reason is the bb will be in an awkward position. When using a 27.5 wheel on the 29 frame

I'll probably end up going full 29" i guess.

What is your thought on 160mm on the Primal 29 ?
