Well, compared to a standard QR, thru-axle's are stiffer and stronger. Look at the size of your QR skewer and that is what's holding your wheel on your bike, pretty flimsy huh? A thru-axle gives you a stiffer and stronger axle and the ability to take bigger impacts. Most of the Dh/FR forks have 20mm thru-axles and more frames are going to the 12x150 thru axle in the rear, but if you look at the older DH/FR bikes (i.e. Karpiel Disco Volante, etc.) they have QR in the rear and the wheels hold up fine.

nutted axels only. If you have horizontal dropouts don't even think about QRs.

always get a thru azle in everything....both my buddies and me were just messin around at sea otter doin some wall ride tricks and both their axles snapped in front....thru axles are stronger and way more reliable

haha not even close

a double crown is soooo much stiffer you can just feel it on the dh lines

hes comparing it to a qr. it is like ading aboing crown, but onth ebuttom
