I am looking at buying my first "real" downhill bike. This bike will be strictly used for downhill and these are both in my price range ($3500 - $4000). I am 5'11 and will be only riding it in local vancouver mountains and whistler. What do you think?

Although i do like kona, for me it would have to be the demo then again stretch your search further and take a look at the devinci wilson.

i had the same choice to make earlier this year, i rode both, and i thought the stab rode alot better for the kind of racing i would be doing, but it was sooo close of a choice, theres even more bikes in your range too . the norco DH is like 3500 and the devinci wilsons are a great bike, and even a mongoose. but try and ride each to see what one fits the best

Wilson 1 $2700
Wilson 2 $3500

Both MSRP so should be able to find them a little cheaper.

for 2010 they only make a wilson 2,3 and 4. does that mean that the wilson 3 will be $3500?

Shockers are 5999.99 and 6999.99. I saw one with Sram groupset for 6gz, and saint +fox groupset for 7.

Since your based out of BC, the DH mecca it is, why not a used bike? Everytime I head out west I'm always amazed by the quality of the bikes. You'd get a year old bike that was $6000+.

thanks. ya so i wont be getting my leg over a cove for a while now

ya i probably will, and you recommend the wilson im guessing?

Well I do like them, but I'm not blinded by them. Really any high end bike is steller. The parts become specialized for DH and not just a "thrown on" piece, suspension is more tunable, etc, etc, etc.

The world's your oyster, take a look at anything and everything.
