I've got a 2014 lyrik rc2dh. Can I replace the current air cap with the pike air cap in order to use bottomless tokens? Cheers

Yep, fits fine.

I think the thread pitch changed for either 2015 or 2016 and the cap no longer fits so make sure you have the right one.

Got off the phone with Sram and the tech told me that indeed the thread pitch is different and there isn't a pike top cap that will fit the older Lyrik. I've read on a few forums of people running the pike top cap in pre 2016 lyriks just wondering how they are supposedly doing it.

They may have given you false info. I'd be willing to bet a 2014 air cap will fit.

I thought the same thing until I bought my Avalanche damper. That being said, I currently have a charger upgrade for sale.

Great to know man. I'm looking into this immediately

Hey does anybody know the thickness of the lowers of a 2009/2010 Lyrik?

I'm building a front porteur style rack for a long distance backcountry tour, and I want to have something stiff and reliable up front rather than a handlebar bag. One of my design options would clamp high up on the lowers: either at the powerbulge area or just above. It would be used as a rolling support featuring skateboard wheels and would look sort of like the picture below, except the rack would attach to the handlebars primarily, and only rest on the lowers. (It would have a clamp on each lower, and an arch just like the fork arch too so that things were stiff torsionally).

Here's an earlier drawing:

Perhaps a better way of doing things...

So anyways, what is the wall thickness of the lowers? Are there any locations that are especially thick or thin (such as the powerbulge area?)

Thanks!!

I think I would avoid connecting to the lowers all together. connect to the bars and the bottom of the steerer IMO.
that way your load benefits from your suspension. it will limit your load but that's still better as you don't want too much weight up there anyhow. Don't go too far out, maybe like 15cm from the head tube to prevent too much torqueing on the clamps you setup. Interesting idea.....

Don't forget to design around your suspension at full compression Smile

If you have to worry about how thick the lowers are - you are attempting to carry too much weight IMO. I would at this point say - build up a back country specific bike designed to do what you are doing with it Smile

I don't have 3000 though. I'm having a ftied make a stem thing from aluminum. It will work well. I'll post some pics when done.

Last backcountry trip I did, I had 55L of stuff for 4 days. I used a big pack for all of it, but the ideal would have been a 35L pack, 15L seatbag, and a 20 handlebar roll. Depending on where you're going and what you need you might have more or less stuff, but that's probably a good starting point. Being able to easily unload your bike for a lap, or to ride more serious terrain after you get to wherever you're camping is very useful.

question regarding rebound assemblies on Lyric forks.

How many types are there and what compression assemblies are they compatible with?

I thought it did not matter what rebound setup you had you could just swap MiCo or MoCo or MiCo-DH at will.

Now I am wondering about that.

Hi, i recently bought a used Lyrik coil u-turn 160
I recently had oil service on it and i had a struggle with the oil level on damper side.
Downloaded the Lyrik manual where it said the oil was 187ml... Was waaaay to much.
Settled on 120ml. Didnt measured when i tapped the old oil unfortunatly.
The seller told med it was a 2012 model, but i dont think so after the service i had on it.
Has tapered steerer.
Anyone who could help me tell the year model and oil level?
Was reading 112ml somewhere else, so i wonder if i still have too much oil in it.... :-(

As for oil levels, take note that this is RC version, not RC2.
And another thing to note is that oil levels differed around 2011-2012, when RC2DH damper was introduced.
I remember going from 127ml to 193ml of oil in damper side when i switched older Lyrik for newer one (RC2 on the old one, RC2DH on the new one)

Thanks for the replys!
The seller also told me it came with a trek remedy 9 frame from the store, and after some google search it looks like 2009 was the last year they came with 160 forks and went on 150 since then.
I also tried 145ml, but was also too much...
After then i found this oil chart on 09 lyrik:

https://sram-cdn-pull-zone-gsdesign.netdna-ssl.com/cdn/farfuture/XyVwbx0Vv1mq-BfMhka4KqTzVYp1IWlkROnVeR9JRlc/mtime:1372788172/sites/default/files/techdocs/technical_manual_-_rockshox_front_fork_oil_chart_-_2009_0.pdf

Looks like its 112ml then...gonna try it out and have test run.

So this is a Rockshox Lyrik RC u-turn fork then ? Most likely 09 or 08...

Hello

After a recent full service on my totem (rc2 solo air 2014) it has lost ~10mm of travel.

Note that if I remove all air it currently sits at 100mm or something. Is this normal? Is there a chance that there is negative air trapped somewhere?

Where should I look at next to fix this problem?

thanks
