Switching from an All mountain to a Downhill?

Well, i have an Enduro SL, custom built up by me, and i have been thinking that i dont go uphill enough to justify keeping it. i built it up using downhill parts, so i can transfer most of it, but i need to know how the demo will be in pedalling. i dont need to go up anything, but a do need to get speed on relatively flat trails.
i would be getting a demo 8 2007-2010, and my enduro, which i am always in high-gear, is 30 pounds exactly.
any experince with the demo's pedalling?
