Pyro, you ever figure out what caused all those spokes to quit on you. Surely it wasn't the Shan's fault....

Most likely scenario should be that something pushed the rear mech into the wheel while the cage was extending in the compression.
Wheel failure due to rim/spoke weakness would not have involved the rear mech.

Both the mech hanger and rear mech itself were bent. I managed to straighten the mech hanger out luckily. Will need to investigate whether the XX1 rear mech can be saved.

some ducktape around the cable and tube. looks kinda crap, but works well. done it on multiple bikes when everything else failed.

like just tape the brake line to the top tube kinda deal..? makes sense, just never thought to do that. I'll have try it 'cause this ting-ting rattle blows ass.

yeah i thought about it too. i still got some plum left. but actually green would be the perfect match for purple/plum. i will go for green grips if i find proper ones or painting the fork green.

yeah, it works pretty well most of the time, much better than messing around trying to coat either thing with some kind of tape or rubber.

autocorrect strikes again.

Too late now. You should have gone for it before it was trending.
