After many months of waiting I got my Marino! It is a mix of new parts and some that were just laying around.
HTA-65 (probably a little slacker now because the fork is at 160 instead of the intended 140)
STA-76
Reach-510
BBdrop- -55
Chainstay- 435
Spank Spike Vibrocore bars 800 x 50mm rise, Spank Spoon stem
Raceface Grippler 33 grips
Deore brakes with Sram Centerline rotors
Cane Creek Helm fork 160 (will lower to 140mm most likely)
Spank 350 Wheels
Specialized Butcher 29 T9 2.6 front/Eliminator 29 T7 2.6 rear
Deore 10 spd shifter with XT derailleur and cassette (11-42)
SR Suntour AION Crankset 170mm
Nukeproof Pedals
One UP 210mm dropper
WTB Volt saddle
Wilder Wild frame protection tape

Literally almost bought those bars… how tall are you? I am high rise bar curious!

I’m trying the PNW range bar with 10deg sweep to see if I can give my wrists a bit of a break. They arrive on Wednesday.

The Marino looks mint. Love the taxi cab yellow!

I'm 6'2" The up/back sweep of Spank bars have been the most comfortable for me (4 x 8 ). I would like to try a little more back sweep as well.

I love this build. It's such a sensible build that prioritize all the right things. I bet this build wwas under 1700. And those 50mm riser bars look awesome. Let us know how it rides and report back with some pics on the trail

Ps leave it 160

Whoa awesome build! tup And I didn't know Suntour made AION cranks.

Given that the HELM lets you adjust travel easily, I'd say experiment. haha. Initially wanted a HELM for that particular reason, but couldn't afford it lol lol lol

I bought the Helm used for $300 from a friend! He only used it a few times and then bought a Fox 38. I had it on my Kona Process for a little while while I waited for the Marino frame. It will be another month or so until I can really test the bike out, still recovering from knee surgery

Damn. Good deal. haha Hoping you heal fast from your knee surgery. Riding your Marino would be the best knee rehab Beer
