When I threw hard into berms or pumped transitions the tyre would hit the frame, 2.1 at high pressure too. Shame as the size angles and balance of the frame was spot on Rode awesome apart from that
Interesting, i haven't had that happening yet even with a Hans Dampf on there. Will have to wait and see if I can provoke such antics from the frame. Could swear I remember you having a Soul a while back?
That's whack, I love my BFe. I'm not too heavy only 160-170lbs geared, but I ride the gnarliest technical and steep descents, throw the bike into hard corners, shred bike parks etc, and it doesn't feel flexy at all to me. I even ran a dirt wizard on a 39mm (internal) rim, with only 1.5mm of clearance on the seat stays and the tire barely rubbed it riding hard.
Visually one can see the rear end of the BFe is quite beefy.
What do you weigh? Sounds like maybe your back wheel might have just been what was flexing.
Never had any issues with my bfe, I'm running 2.4 Nobby Nic on a WTB I-23 but I'm running a 10mm bolt through axle which does stiffen up the back end quite a bit over a standard QR. (and I weigh 210lb not including kit)
Nah Bfe, as a 4X 'a'ble hard tail, then the Dartmoore phantom for 4X an the El Camino for XC. Now the stanton 4X an the meta SX Finally settled with those two now
Ah okay, no wonder I got muddled up with all those bikes haha
been thinking of getting a hardtail for a while just cause. what do you guys think about the cotic bfe 26er? what travel fork?
Thank for the comments guys. Gonna test one out this week end and I'll pay attention to the back end stiffness.
Just get one. I understand people's concerns on here, but it is the first time I have heard of a floppy back end. The two guys up my way have never ever complained of that on their Burly Irons. In fact, out of everyone I see, they are the most aggressive riders.

I have some experience with different travels on the front of my BFe, and I would say for you, it really depends on how you ride.
Depends on which you prefer more, climbing or descending... 170mm descends like a beast but isn't as good for slower stuff, flat corners or climbing. 120mm climbs like a beast and is okay to descend with. 150mm is the best for me, still destroy dowhills and the geo is decent for climbing up to even 50% grades, and much better on corners and for trials.

Thanks that info. Test bike will have 150mm forks. If I buy (and I am very tempted from sight alone) I'm Thinking i would put an older set of fox36 160mm on initially to try out. If this feels a good size, I may put my new plusher fox36 160mm on. I have these on my Knolly warden at the moment but could put 170mm on that bike. Thinking this gives me flexibility then with both bikes as its easy to lower them 10mm if that's what works best.
