okay so i looked it up and please correct me if i am wrong, but it says that is a nicer carbon and nicer weave making it stronger and lighter, also the metals are different or something.
Does anyone know how much I have to tighten the bolts of the shock mount on my 2013 demo 8 1? I noticed that if I tighten them properly, it has a noticeable affect on the caracteristics of the rear shock, becomes a bit stiffer.
I've ordered an Ohlins, but sure hope it turns out good. My CCDB today blew me away, after getting the tune and preload spot on.
what setting are you running on the CCDB
"spot on" ... of course
Yea man, did you not notice the "spot on adjuster?
Don't know exactly what it is - set it to base settings, made the LSR and HSR slower, and just did a couple of fine adjustments to the compression from there.
It's difficult to recommend settings as a lot of it is directly related to how heavy you are, how fast you ride and how hard the spring is that you're using.
If it helps anyone, I weigh 100KG(220lbs) use a 500lb spring & got some pretty neat settings from the guys at TF;
HSC - 2 turns back from minimum HSR - 4.5 turns back from minimum LSC - 18 clicks from maximum LSR - 12 clicks from maximum
Added to yhe above, it depends on your riding style too. I found that I prefer running a bit kore sag than the recommended 30%.
Naturally I'm very far forward on the bike (trying to change slightly now thts I'm on the demo), so run it softer in the rear and a stiffer fork. I'm between 80 / 82 kg without gear, and have tested the 400 and 450 springs quite a bit. I lrefer the 400 with a little but more preload.
