I have got a 2021 specialized status 160 and I am wondering if the frame is compatible with a dual crown fork. It's hard to find detailed information on this bike online. Specialized website don't even have it on their site. I am thinking of running a 180 dual fork with a 27.5 wheel up front in the high position(instead of a 29) or could I just run a 200mm triple with a 27.5 wheel? Or just a 29er with a 180 triple clamp and hopefully that will keep the geometry the same. Basically I’m going to the alps in summer and I cba to buy a dh rig as well as my status Thanks

Dual crown or triple crown... the Status can totally handle it dont you think? I am a 200# rider and have yet to bottom it out.
I currently have a YT Capra and a Trek Slash. I am wanting to get familiar with the mullet world so I am looking at selling / trading my Capra so I can get into a status. The only problem I am having is what size to get. I am 6'5 (198cm) and I have read that sometimes these bikes are more fun to ride in a smaller size. Would an S4 or S5 be sufficient for me? I know my height is in the S5 range but I do not really know much about the status. I just don't want to spend thousands of dollars on something that won't fit the best. I have no LBS around me that has them in stock, so I figured I would see if there are any other tall members ripping a status around?

I'm a similar height, 196, and I rock a S4. I specifically wanted to go that way for a slightly more "throw around" size. I like to be a general dumbass on my bike (in a respectable manner) and have fun so it suits me. I'm sure you'd be fine either way.
One thing I will say is you may want to factor in the cost of changing the dropper to a 200mm.

Compare your reach on your current bikes, and order according to desire.
Here's my status as it stands today.. I recently picked up some lovely Rockshox Totem's and upped it to a 203mm rotor upfront.. Despite the previous owner claiming the Totem's were in excellent working order they needed a full strip and service.. However after a seal and fluid change they are working great.. Liking the setup so far
As you can see its super short reach for me (XS frame) as I stand at a whooping 5'1.. I was cursed in the height department sadly..
This could be really interesting. Being able to swap out for a 29 on long trail days and put the 27.5 back for park. Dose anyone know how much it changes the geo?
Hello I’ve just bought a new drive train and rear wheel (xt m8100 with a nukeproof neutron wheel). When I fully tighten my rear axle the cassette won’t free wheel, if it’s loose it’s fine. Any ideas?
Curious why and how you are running out of gear? In most cases, a maxed out 32T 12 speed will max out where Tucking actually becomes a better option than going up in gear.

When I ride Park, which is a lot, I’ll get up to a jump or drop where I need more speed, and I can’t get any more power down, so I sit there spinning, holding the same speed, which isn’t enough
