Really fallen out of love with my Dixon.

Out of nowhere have developed a rear brake howl. Shop has done everything to fix it, have gone through 4 different sets of brakes and rotors. Whole sets, not just rotors and pads....

It is also creaking like a bitch during pedalling, have done everything to remove the creak, nothing has worked.

As unlikely as it is, I'm thinking the frame is cracked somewhere.

Anyone else had a similar set of issues?

Just picked one up and have had the same brake issue, I've adjusted the brake caliper and feel like that's helped but seems to come back. It's definitely annoying, haven't had anytime to really look at it.

I've got creaking too but that's coming from my Reverb.

Any luck with yours?

Got to find a bigger fork to put on it too. The 36 seems popular on here, can't find a used 26" Pike at a decent price.

I never had the brake issue until recently, it started when I replaced the rear brake pads (same as were on there, X0 organic), and also changed from the old style AVID rotor to the new SRAM centerline rotors. The first few rides it would vibrate under heavy braking, kind of like a harmonic vibration, not something you can hear very much, but more feel. I added a washer between the caliper and post mounts to bring the caliper up a bit and it stopped the problem for a few rides, then it came back. I've also read that it can be due to the pads moving around in the caliper.

I've got a Dixon RXS that I love but the headset creaks terribly. Has anyone else had this issue?

Had creaks in the past that I swear was the headset, but in reality it was always linkage bolts that needed torquing, I would really check those first. Also, my bike is carbon so I was sure it was the headset (it comes pressed in) and almost pulled the cups and repressed them with carbon paste, but in the end it was always something else. Also, I've heard of creaky Fox crown/steerer assembly's but have not had that issue.

Hmm OK I'll have to double-check that everything is torqued.

What makes me think it's from the headset, or at least that area, is that I can make it creak by putting opposite pressure on the bars...like pushing down on the left grip while pulling up on the right. I just changed the stem which didn't affect it so I don't think that is the issue.

I just cleaned my pivot points the other day and found that dirt really gets caked up between them on the outer face of the bearings. I've only had my bike for like 3 months and all of the pivots were pretty filthy. My bearings are already starting to feel a little gritty so I'm sure they'll need to be replaced within a year or so.

Good call btw, it turned out my creaking was actually coming from one of the bolts holding the rear shock. It was slightly under-torqued.

I just replaced the bearings on the seat stay/rocker arm pivot, they were a little gritty. What I noticed is Devinci just uses Enduro 6903 RS bearings, which are made for spinning type applications (wheel bearings etc). I replaced them with Enduro 6903 MAX LLU BO bearings, the MAX has the same size dimensions but is made for suspension pivots where a large load is placed on the bearing but it doesn't spin much (like a wheel would). I also opted for the LLU which is marine bearing grease and the BO is black oxide coating on the metal surfaces of the bearing. They were only $8 each online.

As each of the bearings need replacing, I'll upgrade them all to the 6903 MAX LLU BO, only a $1 or 2 more than the low end standard 6903.

My buddy just found a crack in his 2013 Dixon, and is now waiting to hear back about a warranty claim for it.
Cracked 2013 Devinci Dixon carbon.
