The Boxxer and 40 are more for DH, and the 888 is more towards Freeride. Preference takes over from there.

I'm getting tired of these threads...
- Which is better boxxer or 888.
- How does the 888 perform compared to boxxers.
- Do the Fox 40s have shit stanchions?
- What is better, boxxer or 40.

It's all about preference buddy, stop making useless threads. Do your own research, and try them out.

And we always get that usual boxxers are for racing and 888 are more for free ride. While the 40s are just AMAZING.

Try them out with out knowing which fork is which and you will go by instinct.

Bull sh*t the 888 is also a excellent DH racing fork. They are not as ligth and succesfull as the boxxer or beefy as the 40.But it's the strongest DH fork out there.
888 WC series are there DH race forks and they are good enough for DH.

I'm not saying they aren't a DH fork, but they're more freeride oriented than a boxxer or a 40. The boxxer and the 40 are pure race forks, the 888 is a multi purpose fork. But yes, the 888 is a damned good race fork.

the new 888 sl ata aims directly to the boxxer wc...the are both light and both air sprung...go with the one you get a better deal on,they are both real race forks, but marzo have a better reputation (reliable)...i raced all year with a boxxer wc and it is amazing ,but it needs to be tuned very often...if you are new on the race sceen i would recommend the 888 sl ata or 888 wc (more expensive and heavier than the sl ata) as for the 40 i never tried it but lots of racers i know were complaining about weak seals (leaks) but loved the overall performance...

From now on I vote that anyone who starts these threads should be banned. Similarily, anyone that posts in them should also be banned. This might actually encourage people to use the search function. Bottom line is this, boxxer owners will reccommend a boxxer, and fox owners will reccommend a fox, etc. Nothing has ever, or will ever, be gained from these threads. They should be locked automatically.
