Speaking of Vigilante, I'm considering to buy one for my rear wheel, it's 30mm internal width and I'll get a 2.3 Vigilante. Will it fit fine or should I go with something bigger?

Fine. Few guys in the office have them on 32mm ID and they're spot on.

On that note, I think a 2.5 Vigilante is coming too.

Read my comment above dude.

The way I look at it, the potential time & effort saved by going for the lighter casings, would be gone with a single puncture. Tough may be heavy, but you'll thank yourself when the going gets rocky.

Oh sorry man haha don't know how I missed that. not with it this morning!

Maybe I missed it, but what bike are you riding?

The vigilantes could be too wide for your frame if you're on an XC bike. They inflate up to a true 2.3", not a Maxxis 2.3

Oh right yeah, Jamis Dakota D29 comp 2014 so they possibly might not fit then.

As it happens, I can't seem to find a 29" Vigilante tough high grip anywhere! Looks like I might be getting the Nobby Nics, still waiting for my LBS to reply if they can get them.

Yeah, the 29" is coming, but will be a while.

On Nobby Nics, I would go 2.35 trailstar front, 2.25 pacestar rear.

And both in stock here - http://www.chainreactioncycles.com/schwalbe-nobby-nic-evo-mtb-tyre-snakeskin/rp-prod128940 Salute

Chain Reaction had a stock discrepancy on the trailstar Frown I've got a £5 voucher though so that's nice.
Should I just get a 2.35 pacestar for the front? Or is there a better option?

You could take your voucher towards the new addix tyre.

Only thing keeping you in contact with the ground.

Tyres are 1 thing you should never cheap out on.

I always want a sticky compound front tire. All it takes is one wet root in the middle of a corner.

I reckon the wet root will triumph even if the compound was blu-tack Razz
