Im wanting to setup my slopestyle bike for barspins and tailwhips. Do most guys just extend all their cables? Currently im running a 3spd crank so ill have two shift cables to deal with plus two brake lines. I see guys throwing whips and barspins but haven't got to look at their bikes up close.
How are they setting up their cables for these tricks?
I don't want to sound like an ass, but before you go ahead and do this learn to tailwhip and barspin. Mounting your shifter on the down tube will decrease your performance, so wait and learn first. If you already know them, then go for it.
What pros such as brandon semenuk do is they have a single gear so no gear cables and only a rear brake. That cable is then put through a gyro head so that the bars can spin non stop and cables don't get caught

brandon semenuk runs gears... and a front brake...
if you want to do tricks just go make all your cables long enough for 1 full rotation of the bars. then go learn. in the process of learning you'll probably destroy your bike. then buy another bike thats all set up to do all those sweet tricks you just learned!

He uses that for downhill, have you seen his hardtail slopestyle bike? He uses the exact set up I described
His Trek Ticket hardtail is set up singlespeed with only a rear brake because it is for dirt jumping where you only need 1 brake and 1 gear. And on his Ticket S slopestyle bike he runs the rear brake with a long hose, the front brake hose through the steerer tube of his forks and a downtube shifter for his gears, and he has done for years along with many other slopestyle riders.

"Potts mod" was a front brake cable routing method that came out of early 80's BMX freestyle. It involved having a hollow stem bolt, so you could run your front cable through the fork steertube.
Here's a modern version. Your headset cap obviously needs to have a hole in it (not all do).

But clearly, on a mtb, you would just zip tie the cable to the fork and run it down to the disc brake.
