Hi, I'm about to buy a 2020 remedy 8 but I'm unsure whether to buy the 18.5 or the 19.5 as I'm about 5'11. I was told instore the 18.5 would be better but after looking online I'm unsure. I plan on using the bike as an all rounder but I still want it to be flickable in the air andon the trail. Just wondered if you guys could help me out.
Cheers

I am the same height as you and I went for a 19.5 and shortened the stem to 40mm. Previously I was on a 18.5 Slash 650b and it felt a bit small. To be sure, I would at least sit on both sizes if you can.

I'm same and went with the 19.5, but I prefer the longer reach. I like the 18.5 frame size more, but I wanted the reach.

im on the 19.5 slash and im 5"11 i feel it could be a little longer +5mm reach and stack so if your riding on switchbacks all day go with the medium otherwise go on the large

Since we're on the subject of the 2020 Remedy 8, apart from the teal/volt fade, are the two other colours actually the exact same as last year's models? Would be surprised if they were.

Seems like I'm going to have to try and ride both bikes if I can. Thanks for the help guys.

Hi all, I have a 2018 remedy 8 and have snapped the bottom shock bolt twice now has this happened to anyone else?
The first time it resulted in a warranty replacement frame and shock, the second time I noticed it immediately so just a new bolt was required. It snaps/shears in the same place basically at the point on the bolt where the thread starts. It's also happened to a friend's remedy 2018 too, is this why they're changed the frame design? I guess I'm going to have to change the bolts every 6 months as a precaution. Not great!
Just a heads up for everyone, and all bolts are torqued to the correct tensions.

19.5in for sure. I’ve found the bikes to fit more on the smaller side. I’m 6’0 and have comfortablely ridden my friends XL Slash

I went for the 18.5, I'm 5' 11. Normal legs and body. Mine came with a 125 dropper that I had to change because it was too far out of the frame. Which is so odd as Trek say at our height the 18.5 is ok. 19.5 would be the 'right' size for you, I went for the smaller one because I wanted to chuck the bike round more than rail over things. The bike does feel slightly small for me though but I'm happy.

I'm 5'-10.5" and ride a 19.5" remedy (2019). Couldn't be happier with the size. I don't like too long of a reach and I think 18.5" would be on the small side. Try to jump on both as ymmv

Weird. I'm 6'1" and I ride a 19.5. A few months ago I posted here asking if 19.5 was the right size or if I should size up to the 21.5 and the response was so mixed. Seems odd that someone 5'10 and someone 6'1 would ride the same size bike. Now I'm wondering what I should be on! Haha

The 17.5" Slash is way too small for me when I demo'd one Even if I rode a longer stem.

If they made a 18.5 Slash Carbon …. I don't know, the alloy 18.5" Slash feels a bit tight, but a 20mm longer stem and I kinda like it.
The 2019 Remedy 18.5" feels small. The 2019 Fuel Ex19.5" feels too big, I like 18.5" Fuels with a longer stem for the handling,. I got issues I am old school and it took me a minute to like 50 or 60 mm stems.
From 18.5" Fuel exs from 2014-2017 with 80mm stems and 2016 Remedy 8 with a 80mm stem and it was shreddy.

Same here. Medium is way to small for someone pushing 6'.

Here's mine. Sad day but it's up for sale.

Mate too right. I’m 6’2 and feel super comfortable on a 19.5. I feel the 21.5 would just be way too long - I guess I’ll need to get my hands on one to find out

My coworker is around that size and moved from a large to an xl with a short stem and was way happier.
