We had a custom pick one up. He goes out West pretty often, but he occasionally just rides it on the trails. Says the thing is an absolute hoot. Set a new PR over his mach 5.5 on a pretty trail oriented trail.

Completely unrelated, so apologies in advance, but has anyone ever tested Strava back to back against timing poles? Would be curious to test the accuracy on multiple laps because I know Strava can read “fast” sometimes it seems.

Timing poles will be accurate every time. Strava isn't. It can be ridiculously out at times.

I’m very aware. I would like to see the difference between the two using both simultaneously. Maybe even get an average difference/fluctuation over a few sessions

Trouble is the inaccuracy fluctuates.

100%. Different phone, different carrier, weather, who the f*ck knows what else. Way too many variables for a definitive outcome, but would still be interesting

I've carried 2 different phones running Strava. Some of the segment times were 30 seconds off between the 2. Strava is a joke for that. Good for keeping track of rides and rough estimate of distance travelled only. I'm sure the devices themselves contribute to this too.

He doesn't use PB, and I'm doing it while at work, so definitely getting negative points here.

twenty six inch times four. The real tube size.

(Most 700 gravel sizes and 29ers.)
