I can only imagine because it saves a lot of time (and money) in production. Cotic use alloy seat stays on their full sus frames because it was the easiest way to mass produce them in the required profile. The PP Shan 5 also has a alloy rear end. The 2 that have true steel rear ends are Curtis & Starling.

For real. Isn't the whole point of using steel to have more traction because of it's different properties? A steel rear end and ali front makes more sense to me, but I'm no engineer

Steel on a full suspension bike doesn't really make sense to begin with.

Yeah, I think some of the prototypes had a carbon rear end, but they're now steel.

It needs to be longer with even more exposed. I’m not sure where the idea of as much post possible showing in pics got started but it looks awful. If your that tall put it down futher for the picture and back up for riding. Non drive side pics too, they look weird.

I was actually thinking it would look best with an exposed seatpost greater than or equal to the total height of the bike. Basically like the tallest mast on a sailboat or a lightning rod or something. Needs more seatpost.
