Desperately wanted one, non-cart bearings and all. I hope they still try to move forward with it.

Also, you can mix Sram and Shimano 12 speed shifters and derailleurs. Have personally seen both XT shifter mated to X0 derailleur, and GX shifter mated to XTR derailleur. Doubt it was intentional, and I can't really see the benefit of mixing it, but hella cool to know.

I’m a quiet hub guy and I was super excited about these hubs also. But I’d say the standout performance achieved with new xtr would be the cassette ramping allowing you to shift under load. Haven’t tried it but apparently it performs as advertised.

Absolutely. And with an offset rim, the rear wheel could be built without stress imbalance. That's not an issue for steel spokes, as I could just mix-and-match gauges, but that's a big deal with polymer spokes, as all manufacturers make only one gauge (for now). I was so close to building THE ULTIMATE REAR WHEEL.

Until even better components come along, of course.

It's no better than xx1 for shifting under load imo.

If I need a new rear mech I'll likely replace it with XT. rather than the X01 that came on the bike,. I'd argue there's not much difference in quality, especially when compared to the difference in price.

Cornelius claims the shock shaft being smaller in overall diameter but with considerable wall thickness is actually stronger than the larger diameter, smaller walled shafts seen on most air shocks. The benefits being small seals with less friction.
