Sorry... not a good idea. Do you have a frame building machine shop at your disposal and do you know how to weld?

You're basically talking about changing this . . . to this . . . :

woah.... is there a pivot at the bottom bracket? if not... how? if there's travel in the top tube then you'd be tweaking the hell out of the seat tube/chainstay/bb junction... !?!?!?

This explains it.

Okay, yeah, I saw that a while back. There is a pivot at the bottom bracket. It would not work without it.

I really don't think it makes sense as a home conversion project like the original poster was talking about.

Well, honestly, nothing would make sense as a home project.

He would have to do plenty of machining to actually make the rear triangle pivot the front triangle.

And it would take plenty more to make the design feel worthwhile.

short answer: no
long answer: if you have to ask, you probably cannot. someone might be able to, but I'd have serious concerns over how well it would work, and if it would be worth your time and money to make it happen. much better to simply buy a FS frame and swap your parts over, if that's what you really want.

It is possible I have do it to my bike and its pretty easy if you can weld. I cut the bike behind the seat and behind the crank. Then I found some strong 1/4in steel and cut to the size I needed, then drilled my holes and bolted it in the right spots. Then I welded the piece of steel that will hold my shock. Added some paint and its a dream to ride. and the best part is I did spend any money on it!!!!
