idk i run 32 with gx eagle. never use the 50t but when youve already climbed 5000ft over 10 miles and you still got a steep fireroad to go up, the 50t is a lifesaver.
I have a 29er, run a 32 on my eagle..def don’t ever use the 50 and I climb elevation at least 2000ft every ride...def going back to 11 spd

What about your Kona?

I ride a customized 2018 Camber. It’s a 29er and it has been modified for more downhill enduro riding. It’s got carbon wheels,Rockshox Pike150 ml front forks, 130ml fox float rear, carbon Deity downhill handlebars, Deity stem, Ritchey Race headset,Deity flat pedals, Raceface one bye, dropper post(which I leave down because I don’t ever ride on flat trails just downhill) Maxxis downhill tires(tubeless). I’m short so my buddy at specialized built it for me because I don’t fit well on their enduro bikes so I needed a smaller frame. It doesn’t climb that good now but it’s fast going down.

IMO, the 50t is almost too large. my uncle has gx eagle, and especially on the rocky climbs in switzerland, he was spinning the rear wheel all the time. I can see where it would be useful, however think its a little excessive for me.
AGREED

Newton ST is much squarer than what I'm used to and I really like it. It's also a bit more aggressive than the typical tires I ride so I don't think it would be fair to compare it with them (NN, HD, HR2 are some that I've been running). D's o far very happy with the front...the rear not so much but that is for a different thread (pun intended).
