Final update on my Saracen.
It's been refused, again. Do not buy an Ariel, or anything made by Saracen.

Now downtube protector, carbon frame. Small rock strike I didn't even notice = splinters.

To be a bit more transparent it's on the di2 battery port which apparently isn't structural but I'm not sure I trust the frame any more. I don't know if they were saying that to shut me up. Main worry, if that is the case, is that cracks will spread.

Currently pursuing a few options but I really don't have many. Wish I had bought a nomad or something from a company that would have actually taken care of me.

id just get some resin, bash it over it and keep riding. Carbon is pretty easy to repair if it’s not completely in half

This^^

Can you post pictures of the damage? There are loads of carbon repair specialists that will do a professional job including matching paint damage, it’s cheaper than you think as well! It’s pretty shitty it happening to a new frame, but regardless if it’s a dock strike it’s not really a defect is it? Have you tried claiming on house insurance if you have accidental damage cover?

Of course it's not a defect. It's a bad purchase decision - a carbon frame with no downtube protector. You can't walk that one back into it being a warranty claim.

They could have done him a 'crash replacement' deal if they gave a ####, but it's not a warranty.

Oh well lesson learned. Sometimes bad decisions cost money.
