tire size is the least important part of a bike yet its the most talked about because its the latest trend
That's quite a statement, especially if you're talking about wheels, rather than tyres. Can't say I agree.

Geometry is key. As a tall person, latest wave of long/steep seat angles and the 29 wheels - fit is just better.
Yup. Being a taller rider, 29ers with sorted geo have been a game changer for me.
I am not tall and I find my 140/160 29er to be way more capable than my previous 180/180 26er and I haven’t yet found a scenario where the big wheel bike failed to do something that the 26er handled with ease. Modern bikes are just better, I’d say.
Basically just frame and brakes at this point still standing from stock and its getting some mt trail sports soon too.

To put a barpad on the top tube... wouldn't you have to remove all the padding?
nah its a bmx tt pad, they are split along length so padding goes over tube and cover velcros over it... they really handy if you have a habit of wacking your knee on tt but granted they look pig ugly if you don't...

Definitely disagree. As a racer I find 29 has made me consistently faster when I don't feel like I'm riding faster. Geometry plays a huge roll in this as well, but I was riding 27.5 with very similar geo to the 29er bike I'm on now and find the larger wheels have made a significant improvement in my times.

Why would you jump through all the hoops of getting a nice wheelset, carbon bars etc but then use the worst brakes sram has to offer since ditching the avid name?
Bikecheck of my Deviate Highlander (with English subtiles).
Really really like that build. Especially the mix of AXS and Shimano for the best of both worlds in shifting. You really live up to the German stereotype of borderline autistic attention to details, which can be a good thing imo
I know some stereotypes but the borderline autistic attention to details one I haven‘t heard yet. I take it as a compliment though.

I weight 65kg and my respiratory fitness is trash... they stop me just about atm... As I said will have a set of mt trail sports on her by middle of next month.
i think the upgrades on the bossnut are utilitarian and tasteful. i bet it rides great. how do you feel about that CC shock in comparison to say a fox dpx2?

Ah ok, makes sense.
Meanwhile I got a fresh titanium bolt as an upgrade, unfortunately for my leg instead of my bike. Need some fresh bikes to lighten the mood please, vitals mobile layout sucks.
