Any thoughts of running shorter cranks

165s are best. Or even shorter.
should have quoted as I was responding to the other guy but I have been contemplating shorter cranks I have a couple buddies running 165s and they are happy with them even at being 6ft.

I've been running 165mm for 2 seasons now. It was a noticeable difference in how many pedal strikes I get. But I'm also 5'8" FWIW.

True I am also 5 8 but I think I could run as short as 155s and still be comfortable. I certainly will never run longer than 165s. I definitely think it is worth trying even if you are over 6 ft

I’ve run 165s like I eluded to in my post. WWAAAYYY too short for my liking. I still prefer 175 but 170 gets the job done. Too many years of DJ and BMX to go shorter.

Yeah, I'm constantly gauging me eewings on rocks due to terrain, poor line choice, even poorer technique. I'm seriously considering going to 165mm. I'm 5'7".

I'd still have my eewings if they fit on my bike. As soon as the 165s came out I bought them.

I wish I had a bike like the above as a kid. Nice one!

Am enough. Surprised how this thing handles.

So sick, I wish I had a bit that nice when I was a kid.

The crank arms seem a little long for someone who would ride a bike that size though, no? Looks like it needs 150mm or something.

This thing rides so sick I am sure. I used one last year in the Highlands. Pretty much neglected the FS bikes I was testing. Was the weapon of choice for Ballater. HTs are great on trips. No bother at all.

You got to love fitting a 1 litre bottle.

They are 150 or 152. Can't remember exactly.

I’ve no even touched my FS in so long both tyres have lost all air and when I took it out to shuffle the bikes around in the kitchen the other day there was a wee bit dust on the bars lol. I’ve totally fell in love with the Moxie, there’s no feeling like smashing down trails you didn’t think would’ve been possible on a HT 6 months ago with relative ease, you do definitely know you’re riding one but it’s so fun you don’t really care! Also aye man, the 1 litre bottle is the absolute best, especially coming from a Stone Age-esque Orange Five that didn’t even allow a water bottle at all. Gonna give Community Service a go next time I’m up the Golfie and see how the Moxie handles that one.

Yeah! Bring on the orange! More orange, baby!

That looks like a very tough bike, nice build. Used to see Manitous all the time. I had a Manitou fork on my Trek HT years ago that was 80/100mm switchable. I forget the model, really liked those forks.
