Stupid newb question, Can i change out the bottom bracket on my Taro to a raceface bb? with atlas cranks? im trying to make the bike kick ass but not sure what parts go with the Taro.

But Douay have to file the granny tabs off depending on what atlas cranks you have

I have the 2014 honzo and I came from a backround of lots of dirt jumping and not much trail. Thus bike is crazy fun for anything! I ride my dirt jumper and actually miss my honzo. It feels like no bike I've ever ridden. I never thought I'd see myself in a 29er. But it doesn't feel like a 29er(my bro has a 2014 kahuna and it feels way different). I can't wait to rip the mountains.

I'm searching for a Honzo frame but it's out of stock everywhere!
Have to wait for 2015 model or second-hand (I'd prefer a second-hand of 2012 or 2013 because the geometry has changed since 2014, the seat tube is shorter for the same top tube length).
2015 will not be available before August 2014! Madder

I have been riding a size L honzo (I am 6 feet tall) for a year. My full suss Satori is for sale now...

The only "downside" is that it eats the drivetrain faster than my Satori. I get 4 months out of XT cassette (its 36t ring in particular) with the average milage 3k a year.
I use x9 crank GXP BB (with Real world Cycling bearings) with direct mount Wolf Tooth narrow wide 28t . SLX clutch derailleur . No chain guide.

Try looking into one of the many 42t options out there now, if you that with a 30t you might find less wear because you would spread the load over more teeth

Good point. I have been thinking about it but did not try the 42t or 40t setup yet.

I'm the happy new owner of a Honzo version 2012 (steel) and, as usual when I've a new toy, I try to find all I can find about my new toy on Internet (I know, it's stupid: it would be better to do it before! But I'm like this...)

That's said, I found this preview. The review isn't about mine but I like the story about the name. To summarize: Kona wanted to name it HANZO (after the legendary Japanese Samurai Hattori Hanzo) but a spelling error when researching the subject lead them to Honzo.
Who was a famous Austrian Chimpanzee addicted to fags and booze. So the name stuck!

I like the story! Is anybody able to confirm it?

Hi

I have a 2015 with a 120mm Revelation fork...thinking of putting a 150 pike on it...anyone tried this?

Wondering if it makes the bike easier to pop/manual etc as it would raise the BB nearer the axle line

Cheers

Love my Honzo
