I want to do this to my 19' kona process. I've never really like the black, baby blue, and yellow color scheme.

From what I understand:
- disassemble
- chemically strip the frames
- ??? what are the methods after the chemical strip
- polish yearly

Hi folks, I'm getting super excited with ideas of doing this on my own bike. I'd like to go for a finely brushed look. Any recommendations for clearcoat/sealer? I'd like something cheap, durable(ish) and preferably easy to apply, like wiping on (as I saw with the way too expensive Eastwood ExoArmour), though I don't mind a rattle can if there's nothing else. I've been eyeing Everbrite Protectaclear, anyone with any clearcoat experience? I'd rather not have to constantly wax or polish the bike, I already have to constantly polish out oxidation on my phone which I've polished to raw aluminium Razz

I'd like a finish like

you would probably be much better served getting it powder coated then.

because that stuff is likely going to get chipped and dinged up by rocks and sand, which happens uncoated too

of course then you can reduce some of that with the clear plastic tape/film guarding, and the list goes on.

I stripped my shock spring with methyl acetate (Dupont Aircraft stripper)
Wear gloves and ventilate !!!!

I put the spring in a heavy plastic bag and sprayed into the bag. Let it marinate for ~30 minutes.
The paint came right off.

I clear coated it with spray-on PlastiDip (very flexible)

Also pictured is some old XTR triple cranks I modified for 1X.

Yup, they are SUPERB. Have used Shimano XTR/Saint rotors for several years but I honestly think the Galfer rotors and purple G1652 padscombo outshines Shimano. More bite, less vibration, less noise, I guess similar in wear too.
And thanks

I am blown away by the floating rotors and their extreme pads. Completely changed my guides into some of the best brakes I have had!
