What compound did you use to polish? did you wet sand all the way up to 2500 grit or 3000?

@tall-martin Thanks Took probably 120hrs maybe more on just the frame then after staring at it decided to do the crank and forks as well. The fork wasnt too bad but doing the cranks sucked but they look awesome so it was worth it. Started by stripping the frame then wet sanding at 500 grit then going up in increments of 500 up to 3000 grit. Then I polished it with about a jar of mothers chrome and aluminum polish. Yes I have riden it and will continue too ride it since I put so much time into it I definitely want to enjoy it and let people see it. As far as it getting dull I've had it like this for about a year and a half and I havent noticed any dulling over that time. I hit it with some mothers every 6 months which keeps it looking fresh.

Man you can tell all the hours put into it, it looks spectacular, once you start its hard to stop going !
I am currently polishing a set of aluminum car rims and I spent about 30 hours just on one rim. Started with wet sand 220 then 320,400,600,800,1000,1200,1500,2000,2500, then finish it off with mothers polish. Maybe I can cut out a few iterations when goin up in fineness. I really want to do this to my alloy Patrol frame. Maybe in the winter.
That's my norco that I also stripped but decided not to polish. I'm pretty happy with the results of the nukeproof polishing job considering it's the very first thing I have ever polished.
