I love I9 ...but 350's are hard as hell to fault once you swap the ring.

Definitely not exciting by any means, but hard to find a hub that I like better at that price point..

Still want onyx hubs someday for bling factor. They had a pretty bitching interbike special, but it was black only, and I figure if I am going to spend the money for special, I might as well go all out and get some stupid color setup.

Weight game license revoked.

I ain't about this weight game, getting ready to build a HT that's going to be heavier than my XL E29.. Always been about the peen swing.

You'll never be a big pener if you keep up your wicked heavy bike ways!

All about the talk.. Don't have to have game, but just have to talk like you do.

Also, weight game is silly when your 6'3 and have to ride XL bikes.. And when you're a hack and have to ride cushcore and burly tires to actually finish a ride without flatting.

I loathe the Onyx hubs for all mountain-related ventures, but I was thinking that they might be cool for a DJ/slope build. I've always gravitated towards loud hubs so having a completely silent hub could be a trip.

no love for xtr hubs? last yr i bought a lightly used 2013 xtr nomad, and despite my :[ of centerlock, my last xtr hubs were, 2nd gen grey, but dammmmmn these are so fing smooth!! Id be thinking of new xtr if building some wheels atm.
most of the fleet are dt star drive variants. they have been my go to hub since last xtr , but ya feeling the new xtr pull here!!

my 2 bits..

Is anyone making a 100-120mm travel 27.5 with new school geo? Slacker head angle, long reach, and properly steep seat tube angle?

There are a boatload of 29ers that fit the bill, but no 650b with less than 130-140 spring to mind.

Igz, where’s that updated Turner Flux?? Something like that would be ideal.

Do you think there is any difference in strength between the EX511 and E532?

Yes...and here's a few other wheel/rim specs:

E1700 — E532 rims
M1700 — M502 rims
E1900 — E512 rims
EX1501 — EX511 rims
XM1501 — XM481 rims

Bird Aeris 120? Think it is 65.5 and 76 120mmm travel
Rsd wildcat?
Transition Scout? Might be too much travel as it's 130 now

So if I need the strongest 28h 29” 30i rim, I should get the 511 over the 532?

Spec. Stumpy ST 27.5 fits that bill (minus the "properly steep STA").

Also don't carry it at the shop. Literally just askin' about the Hopes vs I9.

6 of one, half dozen of the other. I currently run both and don’t have a preference if you are talking J bend vs J bend.

Go Hope for matchy matchy points.
