Your right. On the trek archive site, it shows it has a rear Shimano M525 hub. I checked the Shimano doc, it says 135mm (5-5 1/6").

I have a 2011 Remedy 9, I hope your liking it as much as I am.

While the stock rear wheel is a standard 135mm QR wheel, that bike does accept 142x12 rear hubs with replacement ABP hardware. The frame is equipped with ABP Convert, which means you can run either, but you may have to purchase the small parts necessary to convert from QR to the 12mm Maxle.

You buy them from your local Trek dealer.

The part number you need for the 142x12 kit is 427343, and should be $40.

I forgot to mention that the 142x12mm Maxle is not included in that kit, and is an additional purchase. If I were you I would order it from Trek at the same time, because I'm pretty sure it is slightly different than a standard 142x12 Maxle due to the ABP system, basically it is slightly longer.
