Hello everyone, I've recently bought this patriot off of a friend of mine and was wondering if anyone on here can tell what year/model it is? Sorry I haven't figured out how to post images yet.

A little help
My guess would be a 2002 Patriot. Check the serial number on the underside of the bottom bracket. The first two digits should be the year.
Here is current project, ive got 2014 boxxers for her too but she needs a decent respray, possibly old school orange paint job. Sorry for quality, camera glass on phone scratched to hell.
Just brought a 2000 Patriot from ebay that needs abit for work. So will undoubtedly be on here asking questions. I brought the bike to go down hilling (can you use to down hill as a verb?)
Bike needs: 1) a good service and clean 2) front brake fitting. It came with clark exo Skelton with 203mm disks. 3) it came with a chain tensioner fitted that is pulling the chain at a real funny angle so need to sort that out. I'll get some pics put up if i get stuck. 4) new tyres
Bad bit, being a 2000 bike (i think) the rear shock mount looks a little used as the paint has fell off and looks a little corroded.
Any advice and useful links would be greatly appreciated.

1st off, there's nothing wrong with using older patriots for downhill riding, I'm setting my 7+ up the same way. Just bare in mind that modern suspension will probably jack the front too high and have a lot of slack. As for shock mounts the flaking could be due to the age, does the shock have any wiggle or movement it shouldn't? Take the shock out and test with the bolts that go though the holes.
