I recently found a 2017 Scott Voltage FR730 like new for $900 and a like new 2016 Giant Glory 2 for $1200, both on craigslist.

Prices are coming down as we speak… people buying their bikes for park season will keep it afloat for another month or two, then it’s going to tank. I’m waiting until it tanks to buy

A good deal for a Flatline is $600 if it’s in great shape. On top of that, I’d have to be completely broke to not consider the other the other like new, more modern 27.5 bikes for a few hundred $ more…

You should expect to have that bike for a while, or basically give the thing away for $500

May have better luck parting it out. I made a profit buying a bike, and selling parts individually.

Hi,

Tyre question: for loose and dry dirt would you go with a tyre like the Xyntotal or something with larger thread like Kryptotal or even Shorty or Assegai?

lower mud spikes are great. shorty gen 1 works for me here in coastal socal and on my dh bike im running specialized hillbilly, gobs of traction in the sand and decomposing granite boulders

I wish RockShox still made the 200mm Domain dual crown. Wish it was updated along with the current Domain RC single crowns

Base Boxxer is $1400, but a 190mm Domain RC is $579. I need a $800 domain 200mm dual crown

I want to build a brand new dh bike from the frame up for under $3000. Finding a good fork new under $1000 is the only challenge.

On top of this Marzocchi 58 is out of stock everywhere

Not happening. Sorry.

Everything is new leftover, not new 2023/2024 stuff.

I already have it all budgeted and planned out. I may not actually go through with this build, but I’m only over $3000 because of the fork

Isn’t that hard, I have different routes I can take with the build plan.

It might be possible to find a boxxer select somewhere for $800, in a sale or perhaps a take-off from somebody who bought a DH bike and wants to fit a 190 Zeb or something

I’m in no rush. I’ll do some research on these European websites, thanks for pointing that out. I do this sometimes with ski gear, I feel like a dummy for not checking in Canada or Europe.

It’s also not the best time of year to be looking for downhill deals, with park season right around the corner.

I would suggest that it is a good time actually - inventories are super high at the moment and a lot of online stores are very short of cash and likely to be trying to liquidate some stock
