Probably slapped an angle set in there. The headset does look tall up top.

I know we're for sex, but do you guys use anglesets and if so, any horror stories??

I use anglesets regularly and no issues. But I stick with the ones from Works Components. I tried a Cane Creek angleset once, but it developed a bunch of noise.

Those French bikes are nice. I feel like the bottom one is what I want Sklar to be.

I think it was several pages back the consensus was that it has external cable routing on the bottom of the downtube.

Nothing wrong with that

FYP - Plenty wrong with that.
Cables do not belong anywhere under a MTB. These bikes see flying rocks and get shuttled on tailgates. Cables get nicked, scuffed and damaged. Just don’t put them under the bike MTB man.
I’m talking to you Chromag.

I’ve been running a Primer with cables obviously under the downtube for over a year. Not a single problem. Just sayin ????

Sklar is perfect just the way it is.

Currently I am going through the process of finding the right frame. My number 1 is still the Sklar SweetSpot (next the Switch9er and the Nordest Bardino Ti).

True! For me it is (still) a bit difficult to get used to the idea of spending 3k on a 4130 steel frame....

I know internal routing can be a PITA, but I like how clean this looks. Cool colour too.

My girlfriend use an Works Components on her hardtail, it works fine...

Yep, I used to run a Works Components in my old HD3. Worked great zero issues.
