OK that's good to know. Thank you. Smile

I read somewhere in a more recent mega275 review that shock tunes were modified. Whether that means all shock tunes we donmt know.

I have no issues yet with my 290 shock tune. It feels supportive and plush at the same time.

And I have previous experience with debonair, in addition to Cane Creek DB air, Monarch Plus RC3, Monach RT3, older fox rp2 and crappy CTD with aftermarket push tuning

Ditto that, so far it just feels mega-plush (no pun intended).... I have used HV monarch plus on a capra which has mega progressive suspension and really don't see much difference except slight better trail compliance.

Several mags say it blows through its travel, but I haven't bottomed out yet and I have put it through its paces. Once I take it down a seriously steep and lumpy downhill track I will find out.

I certainly don't lack any support on climbing or when I am sprinting hard out of the saddle.

I keep thinking about putting some spacers in, but in the end it doesn't seem right....if I did it would be one or two not a bucketload.

Travel66 and Richt2000

Does your shock come with a ML tune or an LL one?

Interesting. Chain Reaction are selling Mega 290s with an ML tune on the Monarch.

Mine also LL.

Haven't seen one but CRC show an ML tune for all three versions of the Mega 290.

So that spec has been on there since the start - november? My guess is the first tune was ML and now its LL.

I'm not sure. The bikes that were out for reviews were LL tuned and Pinkbike and MBR found the shock lacked support so I thought it might be changed then but the 'M' in ML refers to rebound rather than compression so that doesn't really make sense. I'm reassured, though, that you are finding LL OK.

That spec page is full of errors as well as being abbreviated
It says 160 fork not 150
It's says Roam 30 wheels not 40
It doesn't say tune ML, it just has ml in the shock description... No idea if this is what is meant
