is the rear spacing on a demo 7 135mm? also what is the bb size?

135mm. Not sure about the newer ones, I know the new Demo 8's (2010 or 2011 and newer) are 150mm, but not sure if the 7's stayed 135mm. Check dishing specs for the rear wheel too, they are offset about a 1/4 inch from centerline. I have an 07 and had wheels built not knowing that. Had to have the rear re-dished. BB is 68mm.

going back to the original post are you able to convert the demo7 to a demo8?

In which way?

It's not converting a demo 7 to a demo 8. It's just removing the plastic travel limiter to get more travel (0.8 inches) on your Demo 7. No need to direct the conversation back to the original post. There's no more discussion to have over it. Take out the travel limiter if you want to, it won't hurt anything. Leave it in if you don't.

Hi guys! I have a 2008 demo 7.1.
Issue at hand is that there is play between the rear shock eyelet and aluminium (15mm) bolt that goes through the frame.
Anyone else experienced this?
How can I fix it when there is no bushing in the rearshock eyelet?

Any suggestion appreciated.

Anyone know what brand rear hubs came stock on the 2007 demo 7's ( red specialized rebranded ones with laser etched " S " ) - I thought it might be a Dt because it was laced to a Dt rim with Dt spokes but I am not sure and I don't know the model # or anything .I have one and it feels great and I would like to to build a wheel with it. This info would help figure out what size spokes I need - Thanks

I don't think DT Swiss were making hubs (rims, yes) for Spesh back in 2007. Looks like Formula and Joytech are still making their HiLo hubs

Do you have any information that they are DT Swiss? I enquired about the brand in or around 2008 and that's where Joytech popped up.
