yup, I have a 2006 bighit with a fox dhx 5.0 and the eye to eye is 8.75 with a stroke of 2.75. It fits perfectly.
I was looking at the Specialized website and it says the stroke length is only 2.5, did the longer stroke affect anything on your bike?

you dont really gotta upgrade to newer forks or rear shocks. ive had my 06 big hit 2 since 2007 and i havent changed anything but the cranks, grips, pedals, and seat! all you gotta do is just adjust your current suspension to what feels right when you ride it!

i would have rather spent that money on the dhx5... it felt 1000x better after i did that swap

oh and dont even get me started on that drop off.... it was a all around bad fork.

i put on a 888, i had a ton of troubles with that dropoff, the seals went in it all the time,

But with the 888 and the dhx5 that bike rode nice!

O+
