Single ring up front

Hi all,

I was just wondering what everyones opinion of running a single ring up front is? I find most of my riding i can do on the middle chain ring, plus i like the idea of simplicity of one ring.

At the min im running 3x9 on my Specialized Pitch, would it just be a case of removing the other 2 rings and buying a chain guide i would i be better off buying a new crankset too?

you can definitely just remove the big and small rings but you might need to get shorter bolts. I'm planning on doing the exact same thing. I'm going to replace my 26x39 with a slightly smaller (34t) ring up front.
