Took mine on the local trails for the first time yesterday, and now addicted.
Whats the usual race terrain? I see a lot of muddy fields and artificial obstacles, does it ever involve singletrack? Also, anyone do longer events, like up to a day?

Almost all your time will be spent riding round muddy fields at youth centres, schools and various sports grounds. Depends on where about in the country your racing. You occasionally get some sweet singletrack but mostly mud. The most hardcore event in the UK has to be the 3 peaks which is legendary.
Also took my first ride out last night, really great fun. Just drifting through dusty gravel, such a good feeling. This afternoon will be a few hours battling the wind and rain though.
Their the preseason race super fun. Every Tuesday night in September. One part of the track is threw a feild that is just dusty and like sand. Then there is sand! So fun! I miss murdering myself. I don't understand why I can't kill myself just ridding. But I push myself harder in cross.
i really would own a cyclocross bike but just couldn't afford it at the mo unless i sell me road bike ?? hmm i can see the appeal of on/off road any time you like and love the sound of xc on drop bars lol
Two races down, missed a couple unfortunately. Placed 2nd and 4th in the U23's.All been bone dry too which is a shock. Just trying to find some form now.
