mavic over sun rims any day..........unless atomlab is an option, atomlabs rims are THE strongest and the new pimplites are the lightest 24 rim

If you NEED a 729 on a DJ rig you are a hack.

Well, my lbs store only had a cheap 30$ rim or a mavic 729
keep in mind its a 36h so its harder to find rims that they carry on stock

Don't be offended. The 729 is a GREAT rim. I didn't say you were a hack or didn't have a justification. I just said anyone that NEEDS a 729 for dirtjumping is a hack.

OP: Take some good advice and go Mavic. They make EASILY the best rims made.

Cause they are weak and heavy. They take constant attention. Before you say it: I was VERY meticulous getting the tension perfect. I could be accused of being biased against Sun though. Anything's better than a Rhyno Lite/Ditch Witch (same thing). I've also destroyed several Doublewides and Singletracks.

haha, yea. well my choices were either an mtx or a double track. i didnt want a brick as a front wheel so i got an mtx Smile haha. and i was a whistler so i didnt care what rim i got as long as i could ride (and i was on a 100$ budget)

Hey Everyone has to make gear compromises on riding trips at some point.
