Yep.. We do this daily at the shop.

To follow up with on the lever situation... The shop went to replace an old slx lever from the m675s with a new style m6000 lever and it didn't work. They weren't clear on why... But I would assume it's a fluid volume issue for the old calipers..

Hmmm, so I guess I'm still not 100% sure my spare/backup m8000 levers would work on m8120 or m9120 calipers then...

Since you've got all the parts, why not try it at home and let us know?

Would love to. But I don't have the 8120/9120 brakes yet. They are for an upcoming build and after reading all this was just curious if I'd still be able to use my spare levers if I ever needed to.

I am assuming that you mean it tops out during rebound.
The top out (Negative) spring could be broken.
Is it making any other noises and what year is it?

makes a knock, you can hear in the video
2012 fork
(Negative) the spring is not broken, and the oil changed

negative spring does not hold pressure more than 50 PSI

Not negative air, not sure what you are talking about holding 50psi.
This is how most air shafts look.

See the 2 negative springs.
There is a small one inside the bigger one, that is the top out spring.

It may be broken.
The clip/spacer at the bottom of the stanchion that hits this spring could have fallen out.

the spring is not broken, everything works at a pressure below 50 PSI when more than 50PSI , the problem begins

maybe air trapped in the fork lowers?

that would create a sucking down, and maybe a knocking. Thats what made a knocking in my fork

My brakes are producing what looks like very fine metal dust, almost like powder. They are also squeaking a lot. Is this normal?
