He's got a point. The huge disadvantage of the discombobulated geometry would far outweigh the slight traction/rolling advantage of the front wheel on that setup, and thats assuming that you plan to get a 650b front wheel in addition to the fork. With all these 26" parts being sold so cheap nowadays, why get a 650b fork for a 26" bike?

Discombobulated... Sounds like we have a mechanical engineer in the house. Or someone that's already tried this type of mod and is speaking from a place of knowledge and experience. Or maybe just another face palmer.

Get back to us when you have something of real value to add to the conversation.

I presently have a 10mm crown race and a 160mm Pike on my 26" StumpyEvo, and I love the slacker HA. Removing the race and going to a 27.5 front end would maintain the slack HA while raising the very low BB these bikes have. Sounds like an interesting mod to me. Plus the potential of having a bit better roll over through the chunderous and techy, but without the deadpan ass-end ride that some bigger wheeled bikes have. I like tweaking my ride as much as I love riding. If I can do it by swapping out parts without dropping money, I tend to try new things. To each their own I say.

Pike RC 27.5 Dual Air 160/130mm w/ 27.5 front wheel & stock 26 rear wheel

BB height is now 340mm (335mm stock)
HA is 65.5 @ 160mm and 67.0 @ 130mm (67.0 stock on the original 26 and 2016 27.5) (2016 Enduro has 65.5HA)

Not a lot of time on it yet and still waiting to compare A2C and Offset. Front end feels confidence inspiring... will be interesting to see how the back end tracks now. Looking forward to a spring/summer of getting to know the new ride.

Tha looks great. I'm regreting not buying a 27.5 fork. Went with the 26 and changed it to 160mm to raise the BB and also changed the cranks to 170mm. Should have just gone with a 27.5 fork

Really Nice ! Need to travel my Pike to 160mm, too! Those geo stats seems to improve even the Stumpjumper Smile
I am curious how playful it is with the slacker HA.

Who knows the derailleur hanger Type of the Stumpjumper 2015 Evo?

Howdy - looking at replacing xo 11speed cassette with XT M8000 11 speed cassette. Which freehub do I need for the standard Roval Fattie wheelset - 3 pawl engagement.
Cheers

Any Standard freehub will do you don't need the XD. You might look at the Steel ones i've heard good things.

Cheers for that.
I'm just not sure which standard one will fit as the XD just slides on and off and the only standard ones I've dealt with had a bit dirty allen key bolt holding them on.

You need a standard freehub for the Roval hubs, it will slide on just like the XD one does. Super easy

Okay so I need a shimano freehub to fit a DT Swiss 360 hub ? How about the 142 plus adaptor - is that a DT Swiss part or a Specialized?
My local bike shop in not a Specialized dealer.

Actually I have had a bit of a search and cannot find a DT 360 Freehub - which one do I need - brand and model maybe?

You need to get it from your local Specialized dealer. The part number that they will need is S155900001 and the freehub will include the 142+ end cap that you need.

So, I want to get my frame painted and considering what color to go for. Im inclined to go just black, but would like some color in it. Anyone has any ideas what to go for? It has to go with the all the green stuff I have.

I reckon the colours are good, I've got the same model just with different rims and group set but I think the current colours look fine on it. Otherwise maybe all black or change the green on the frame to blue or orange like some of the other models
