And capitalism is the first step to fascism if you use that logic. Politics just isn't that simple in reality.
.

Except I wouldn't say we are currently in a facist regime.

And I wouldn't say they're currently in a communist regime. And there you have it, nothing resolved. It was a fun conversation though!

What are you talking about mate? Who is they're?
What do we have?

My point was in history socialism always ends up in communism but capitalism is currently "working" around the world in many countries without become fascism.

Man, it's like I need an expert to make decisions on how my life should go on the day to day... I think the role of government and what they should have control over has gotten a little out of hand. Then there's the whole party control.

I like the idea of mandatory voting, making everyone participate, but I hate mandates. There has to be a way to be a way to inspire everyone to be involved, and at the very least a basic education of how our gornerning system works. Immigrants are required to know more about our constitution than high school graduates...

One of my favorite things right now is dumb ass Kampala Harris not wanting to support Gorsuxh because he is a judge who ruled by law, and not feeling. It's an example that shows a few things wrong with the thought process of a number of people, primatial the that Gorsuch, being a member of the judicial branch, is supposed to be a check on power for the legislative branch, and therefore is encouraged to think differently than Harris. People can't live outside their own echo chambers, and god forbid someone think differently than they.

I agree with you completely ray, I just think my views on how to achieve the same results would be very different.

That's sadly not true. Socialism works all over Europe. The countries in Europe that are considered the best places to live are socialist nations. Norway is practically a socialist eutopia haha.

And the greatest capitalist country on Earth, the free market experiment, the US is at very real risk of becoming a fascist nation. It probably won't but it's not a clear cut thing.

he's not even the worst of them.

You sometimes have to wonder whether there is a better system of governance than letting a whole lot of uneducated people select from a smaller bunch of often unqualified people, as to who should run the nation. Could we not perhaps just let all the pools of experts say every Economic PhD holder to choose who is the secretary of finance etc and leave it at that?

Actually perhaps I better take this to a political forum before it gets out of hand.

This is why it was understood that education is necessary for a good electorate. No wonder Republicans want to do away with the education department.

Hmm, really though? I'm not advocating communism or socialism but the average capitalist country does not "work" if we're talking about equality and representation. Both the UK and US, model capitalist nations, have ridiculous wealth disparity and inequality, a biased media, huge issues of vested interests and lobbying in government etc etc... I just think that the idea that the status quo works the best is wrong... 2 cents Dead Horse

I agree with Churchill: I may be drunk but you are ugly, and tomorrow I shall be sober.

Or maybe I meant the quote about democracy being worst form of government, apart from all the others.

See, here's my thing. I don't think we are truly capitalist societies. The market is far from free. Government taxes and regulations control the market, and corporations buying patents, smaller companies, monopolizing the market... so where's the laissez faire?

Yet again someone believes the media. Saying Republicans want to get rid of education is like saying the Democrats are coming for your guns. The largest problem with the US voting system is the 2 party belief. No one bothers to look past the 2 major parties because no other party is perceived as a vote that will win or your just throwing your vote away. We had a candidate that was better than the 2 jackass's but no one bothered to look beyond those 2 parties. Our government is corrupt for sure but simply voting Democrat or Republican because of some misconceived notion is why we are f*cked. So I live in California and on my voter registration it's has no party affiliation. I lean more conservative but feel the Dems have Thier place also. I got a notice from California, I wish I snapped a picture of it. It said this." Recent records have shown you have no party affiliation for the upcoming election. If you would like to vote in the primaries you will need to select a party. We have included a form for this selection. Please fill it out and return by such and such date." The only option was Democrat...
