It's super easy to make your own. I do just using oats, dried fruit and either peanut butter or honey. Costs a couple quid to make a good kg or two worth.
"Brad: This Powersauce newsbreak is brought to you by Powersauce: Get sauced with Powersauce. Neil.
Neil: Our top story, Homer Simpson has just Powersauced his way past the halfway point of the Murderhorn. Brad, could Homer have made it this far without the engineered nutrition of six kinds of apples?
Brad: No way Neil. Oh, this just in...Powersauce is amazing!"
I don't think protein supplements make good fuel at all, in fact I'm pretty certain that's not what protein is for.
You are correct.
But proteins mixed with carbs, along with dietary fiber, helps slow the breakdown allowing the energy creating carbs to last longer. Typically. So something like a peanut butter and banana sandwich, made on some real hearty seeded and whole wheated bread would be bomb. Dates, figs, and all kinds of other whole fruits are going to have more complex sugar strands, and fiber, that will break down more slowly.
The other advantage to adding protein to the snack is it helps put muscle repairing nutrients into your body to help with recovery.
Did you mean proteins or fats there? Becuase we all know that fats are important too, and generally try harder in bed.

I meant to include fats, but usually protein rich food is also pretty fat rich as well, like nut butter. Cause yes, fats are quite important.
