As I wrote, I don't think it's gonna fix your situation for long.

France is gonna blow up within 5 to 10 years from now.
Once that happens, Germany will go down with them, dragging most of their neighbours along, Denmark included.

A few places will probably end up with election results much like what we are seeing in GB right now, where Johnson gets absolute majority, due to the other politicians trying to sabotage the democracy, by disrespecting a result of a vote they didn't like.
An example of such would be Sweden.
Sweeden will also become a somewhat too interesting place to live soon, as they are probably the leading example in modern history of disrespect for the democracy.
There the right wing muppets will quite possibly get absolute majority after the next election. Not because they're doing anything overly bright, but because the rest of the politicians has agreed to disregard every third vote in the country.

We probably will have to look to the eastern part of Europe, or across the pond, for reasonable conditions and political stability in the future.

yeah Germany is meant to be a rad place to live and is EFFICIENT

The southern part of Germany is a nice place to live, so is the south-western part.
I lived in Southern Germany for some years, it was as most places of reasonable degree of civilization, the usual 50-50 cons and pros, but the things I value were nice there.
The railway system makes for fast and comfortable transportation. Cars are reasonably priced. The local cuisine is great.
Housing is reasonable. Infrastructure as a whole is in a reasonable state.
On the drawback side we have lack of English, so you must learn German fast or you'll have a limited social life.
People are generally not used to foreigners, counting out Turks, people from the middle east , and Africa, whom they don't really socialise with, so it's fit in or f*ck off.

I...I don't know. I wake up this morning feeling immensely out of touch with most of the population of my country, and I just don't understand what they all must have been feeling to vote the way they have since 2016. I'm confused and scared about what may come next.

I’ve been indifferent this election. Live in a safe Tory seat again.

But to dispute your claim that only the 1% will get richer we’ve seen consistent minimum wage rises, increases in the Personal Allowance and basic rate tax bands and now they’re going to increase the NIC threshold. These have a measurable impact on take home for 90% of people and Corbyn would happily go the other direction

Partly this (although possibly closer to 3/3 Wink ), but the more optimistic view would be to say that our country has become so concerned about the increase in obesity and the problems with our hospitals that the caring thing to do was to vote in a way that means none of us will be able to afford food, and we won't have an NHS so we can stop worrying about it...

So ok then, that's the will of the majority, the majority wants a Brexit and all that we've been reading is just a very vocal minority.
Goodbye then

I guess the same applies to our US friends, all this huff and puff and Trump is not only not getting impeached, he's getting reelected.

And yeah, same thing here, centre-right parliament and centre-right president who both cater to the conservative and simple minded majority, fueling the flames of nationalism when it suits them. Same story the world over
