I sometimes go 60 in a 50 Book

I did 60mph on my gravel

It was both the most frightening and exciting shit I've ever done

real men do MPH.. Razz

Well, I doubt anyone meant 60 km/h
If anyone was talking metric, then slow it is!
The only car I can think of, that doesn't do 0-60 km/h in 6, would be a Citroen 2CV lol

Fun fact of the day:
A 2CV needs over half a minute to go 0-60 MPH. (33 seconds to be exact AFAIK)

EDIT: and the first version in 1948 did 0-25 MPH in 42 seconds, but had no 0-60 time as it simply couldn't do more than 40 MPH.

^^^ da fuq...!?!??!?!

edit: my old GT3 RX7 clocked 167 at Daytona....with a 5.13 rear diff. Definitely been 60 mph on a roadbike. I'd probably shit a small brick doing 60 kmh on a mountain bike...

60 kph on a trail is awesome. 60 mph on the road sounds terrifying. i think ive done like 48 max and it was cool but i wouldnt want to go any faster.

yeah one of those road events turned pretty hairy.

I was running sew-ups at the time, and I had never EVER had an issue, but somehow, some way, on this crazy fast (and long...) descent the front tire must have gotten hot enough to soften the glue.

I came into a left hand bend in the road and the front tire rolled over on the rim. I tried to slow down as much as I could but, between the f*cking horrid vibration and the tire now running on the sidewall, I was losing any hope of keeping the bike pointed where I needed it so I was drifting out wide at mach ass speed. I ran off the road, off the shoulder, and into a small ditch and had to still be going 35-40mph....it happened fast.

My friend was behind me and said I looked like a f*cking weed whacker on crack going through there till I got the bike stopped. Weeds and grass and shit was flying everywhere and everything was covered in green. lol lol

fortunately there weren't any hidden surprises in that ditch...and that it was long enough to let me just ride in it and get stopped without crashing. A pucker moment for sure...

Not wanting to minimize your brown trouser moment too much, but to be honest the mental picture that was conjured up by your friends description had me laughing & kinda wishing I had seen it firsthand.

oh shit Skoo....if only to have had a go-pro back then for that one.... Razz

man...we were splitting our guts laughing when it was over. I finally get stopped...he comes rolling up next to me (visualize a bike stopping with those rim brakes....rrreeeee....) "holy shit man....what happened...!?!?!?!?" giggling like a little kid that farted at the dinner table...we just couldn't help but laugh....and he's laughing his ass off describing the scene as I tore ass through that ditch...

I was covered in chewed up grass...bike was covered in grass...everything was green AF...drivetrain.....frame....wheels.....shoes....my legs....f*cking grass all over the handlebars....it was all green. lol

had to scrap that tire 'cause there wasn't one clean spot where the glue was....it was all grass and bits stuck to it. I tossed on a new one and stuck that grass covered one back under the seat (I'd keep a few spares under the seat tied up with an old Christophe toe strap...lol) and we carried on.
