Has anyone heard of; or thought of, having cooling fins on aftermarket Brake Pads?

I.e. say cooling fins on an aftermarket set of Formula pads...

Depends if Shimano have patented the technology. If they did, and I'm pretty sure that they have, then it might not be as easy as a company just copying them and selling them aftermarket (without getting sued to oblivion). Pretty sure someone else would have done it by now if it was do-able.

Even if shimano does have a patent that usually doesn't stop another company from making a slightly different version of the technology. Since last year was the first year we've seen cooling fins on brake pads I would expect many other companies to be in the R&D phase with their own designs.
