What cassette/ chainring combos are people running for 4x?

just curious what some of you guys are running for 4x. I've seen a lot of sub 9 speed rears with spacers just interested in what others are running. Thanks!

I'm running 34 front and close ratio 25/14 rear. 1st 4 gears are 2 teeth apart then goes to only one tooth difference. A lot easier to get the gearing you want. I generally use 16 or 17 on the rear with the 34 but depends on the track and whether you "push" or "spin"....i tend to spin

Thanks! So is your setup a 9 speed still? I'm running an 11-32 with a 34 on my bike but I know I'd get much quicker shifts using a close ratio cassette

38T front with a 12-21 Shimano Ultegra cassette. Also have a 3 speed Profile with 16,17,18 which worked well.

Yes I ran a 3 speed cassette because I raced the bike in the cruiser class at the local bmx track. It worked great for the 4x series I raced which also was a shortened bmx track. Front gear is all personal preference depending on your pedaling style.

Front ring size is all personal preference but the smaller you run the more ground clearance you have...if thats ever an issue. I just like the feel of 34/16-17. I run a hardtail in bmx cruiser class as well but for that i run 33/16 single speed.
