We've all done it, you go out for a ride and you go to set your fork up and your rebound adjuster is gone!
I found a good little trick that has always worked for me
1) Remove your rebound adjuster from the fork
2) Take a small adjustable spanner and bend the hex part gently, no more than a couple of degrees
3) Re-install the knob and you will notice it will bind slightly on the bolt it covers, it's this binding that stops the knob from coming out

I have always found this way works best and have never had one fall out yet.

Let me know if this works for you too

Remove it and just keep it in your car/backpack Smile

Best would then to just cover the hole left on the fork with tape ... But I can't be bothered to do that on mine ^^

That's another good idea, but this just saves the hassle of trying to dig it out of your bag on the trails Smile

I'm looking at buying a pair of 2010 teams but he said he has lost the rebound knob.
My friend lost his on his 2010 race forks and keeps his in his tool box, anyway are the teams and races the same Allen keys or are they different? Here is the pic he sent me, where can I get the needed part or parts http://db.tt/fnEvrTA3

All rockshox rebound knobs ( to the best of my knowledge) are the same, it's a 2.5mm Allen key

And not having it isnt going to alter the performance at all, or so ive been told

I just pulled mine out and left it somewhere.... no point having it there it's just a glorified allen key.

Edit: by somewhere i mean in the garage, not on the streets or anything...

Not having it in there is not a problem, you just can't adjust it on the fly, it won't leak or anything

It is a different knob(s) for the race vs team.

The teams have both begining and end stroke rebound and so there are 2 knobs, the race forks only have one rebound and so use the 'standard' rs rebound adjuster.

Here is the 'standard' race adjuster:

And the dual adjuster for the team/world cup can be seen here on the right:

If you still have the bolt sticking out of the bottom of the leg you'll just need these knobs here: http://www.forksparts.com/achat/produit_details.php?id=43

Excellent thanks guys,
I don't have the bolt it's missing the Allen key and the red and silver thumb adjusters maybe alongside some circlips.

Is there any shop that sells replacement rebound knobs (for a recon)?
