Hey guys at the last nationals race I had a big crash and got knocked out I stayed out for 4 days afterwards and apparently was having seizers so they couldn't wake me up so it ends up I have a broken and dislocated collar bone and I cut my archilles but the big one is I got a bad concussion and two small bleeds in my brain so I can't ride for 6 months. And I need some hobbies to do that don't put my head at risk once am fully moving in a month or so I already have a road bike on my eyes but I was just wondering if any one have any suggestions on how I can pass the time for 6 months hobby etc thanks

Post on pinkbike, watch TV/movies, play xbox, hang out with friends. Really there's nothing very intertaining to do when you cannot move much :S

Good luck on the healing!

Just relax untill your bones are healed and then go trail building !

It will keep you fit and give you some thing to look forwards to when you can ride again.

I've been out for 9 months now, and a good 4 months so far of that hasn't been working with more to come due to surgeries. Initially it sucks, after a while you just get into a routine that doesn't involve biking (other then the stationary bike), I spend more time with friends, read books, go to the gym and work out.. I'd rather stay away from the while biking scene like taking pics at races and shit, because it sucks to be around bikes and not be able to get on one and ride it. :/

yeah I think ima get a 600d because it takes real good photos and some one told me that a 550d wouldn't be good for mtb photos

yeah the 550d is at the cheaper end of the scale but it lacks the speed to take lots of photos quickly, if you got the cash i recommend get some thing different.

If you don't already know how, learn to play the guitar. That will take up plenty of time and its something you will always be able to use.

yeah I tried to get lessons at school because I was keen a couple of years ago but the head music teacher wouldn't let me because I had hit him with a mandarin while he was trying to break up a food fight

Are you out from Riding or all physical activity, personally I would speak to your doctor/specialist and work with someone qualified and workout, gym, weights, stationary trainer etc. get in gape a use the time date bike as a period of training, but only If it is done under medical supervision.

Apart from that, whatever else your into, get lots of reading done, learn a language, play a instrument or opt for something active rather than time wasted on ps3 or Xbox.

Do some mental training for riding if you are a racer.
